Growing up in an era with the coexistence of prosperity complexity and uncertainty, I have been particularly concerned about the underrepresented minorities and the underprivileged whose voices are often drowned out and neglected. For this reason, I have always been trying to give the underprivileged voices they deserve with my design while exploring the unlimited potential of fabrics and textiles.
I have long been gravitating to textile design and especially the working process in which I work just like a sensitive detective who closely examines each clue and the cultural and historical backgrounds and details behind, it to reorganize them to construct a complete design system.
During my design, I especially focus on color, tactile sensation, and the possibility of incorporating multiple materials, and I try to bring my audience a “soft shock” in my works. I am obsessed with the research on lights and colors’ impacts on human beings and how they can influence psychology and emotions. In my future career, I hope to further develop and explore the potential of these two factors in textile and material development.
